Sand and Wind

Around September last year, I snapped this photo. It was taken on the first sunny afternoon of our short weekend trip to Mermaid Beach. The next day it was raining. As it was off-peak season, the sand was as untouched and barren as a forgotten desert, and the wind bitter, driving the people away from the sea and onto land where they belong. Only us vagabonds dared to venture thus.
